Oregon will forever be one of my favorite places.

This past weekend, my friends and I packed up our car, loaded our bikes, and started our 12 hour drive to beautiful Oregon.

We drove all through the night and arrived just as the sun was rising. It was phenomenal. Everywhere you looked was soaked with rain as the morning fog rolled in. I always feel so lucky to have the ability to travel to such beautiful places and enjoy the slow parts of life when everyone else is sleeping.

We drove down desolate roads off the side of the highway, the trees towering over you on each side.  We took our bikes for a ride down the forgotten roads through the trees. We ended up riding our bikes right to the ocean as we walked along the shoreline.

I've always stopped at Cannon Beach in Oregon, but if you go down the road a ways, there’s a road that leads to Indian Beach. By the photos here, it's no surprise why it's on our must-see list.

We loved seeing the waves crash and break against huge rocks with tree-covered cliffs across the entire beach. The ocean seemed to go on for miles and miles.

I asked an engaged couple rom Nevada to meet up with us in Oregon to take some engagement photos. We spent the rest of the day exploring beaches, climbing cliffs, and enjoying the fact that friendships and love exist.

The next morning we stopped in Portland and picked up some VooDoo Donuts. I seriously recommend trying  the chocolate doughnut with crushed Oreos and peanut butter drizzled on top. It was the perfect end to a great trip.

As we made our way back home, we realized how short the trip was but also how beautiful and inspiring it was. Everyone needs a reminder that life is too short to not just take a couple days off and get lost in nature with good friends every once in a while.
