For what I would class as my first proper “roadtrip”, it probably couldn’t have gone any better.

3 friends brought together from sharing a passion to create.

6 Days, 2000 miles, 53 hours of driving, a Jeep with a roof top tent, on a simple mission to explore as much of the North of Scotland possible.

For a first time that far North in the UK, I was completely blown away. It’s nothing like I have seen before. The beaches, Lochs and mossy coloured mountains are like no other.

We set off from Bristol, South West England and headed to Glen Coe and Loch Etive. After setting up for the night and waking up to a view of Loch Etive, we had to move on swiftly towards the Isle of Skye.

I was not expecting Scotland to be quite so vast.

However, it’s quite nice driving for miles and miles without passing another car or person.

After a spending 2 days on Skye, we headed towards Bealach na Bà that was covered in thick fog and camped the night close by.

If everything goes smoothly on a trip, it’s normally too good to be true.

After a near miss in the car, we had a roof rack bracket snap and had to detour 120 miles. This delayed ourselves around 7 hours to fix the issue. Thankfully nothing bad happened and it was a simple case of replacing a bracket.

Then we headed north to start some of the North Coast 500, passing by Kylesku Bridge and managing to capture a rainbow moment that I will never forget.

Further on after a 4 hour drive through the night we arrived at Durness Beach on the North coast of Scotland at 1.30am. The car park was a stone throw away from the beach.

As I looked up to the sky, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I witnessed the Northern lights for the first time. I quickly ran back to the car, grabbed my camera, and shot photos with a permanent smile on my face, filled with an energy like nothing I've ever felt before.

Waking up the following morning to a beautiful gloomy and foggy beach on the Scottish North coast was a perfect way to end the trip.
