My boyfriend Chris and I recently took a trip to Portland, OR. Since we weren't as impressed with the city as much as we thought we'd be, we decided it was the perfect opportunity to do some adventuring in the area.
Due to all of the forest fires, many of the hiking trails we wanted to explore were closed. Munra Point, Horsetail Falls, Wahclella Falls, and just about everything else by the gorge was closed.
We altered our original plans and decided to spend two full days in Sandy, OR and Trillium Lake. Trillium Lake became my very favorite part of the entire trip.
We rented a canoe for the day so we could paddle through the lake and take photos. It was absolutely amazing. We couldn't have picked a better place in Oregon to stay.
The tiny house we stayed at had a full view of Mt. Hood. Words can't describe what it was like to wake up in the morning and see it first thing. We may need to move here in the future. After scrolling through our photos, can you blame us?
We spent our last two days at Cannon Beach and Indian Beach over on the coast. The rocks themselves were to die for. We climbed to the top for a few photos and explored the tide pools for starfish. I had never seen a starfish in person so it was amazing. The tide was on its way out so we may or may not have been stuck in the rocks once or twice.
Our spontaneous adventure turned out even better than our original plans. There's no doubt we'll be back.
