My field trip to DC was such an incredible experience.
It really is true that history comes to life when you're close to it, and DC has no shortage of interesting stories of the past. I brought my friend Veronica along for the ride as we "history hopped", as I like to call it, through Washington DC.
We went to visit the Capital, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, DC War Memorial, and US Botanical Gardens. As you may have guessed, we were pretty busy!
You'll see some of these landmarks make their appearance in the following photos.
It was so fun creating portraits around these buildings and gardens in a way that doesn't directly point to them but shows their natural beauty.
I wanted the images to have an editorial feel while highlighting the places where they were taken.
In these portraits, you'll see a local high school student I met up with to photograph (quite the model!), as well as some shots of my friend Veronica.
If you haven't visited this concrete jungle yourself, I highly suggest doing so!
