part two of joel's tasmania field trip
On the second leg of our Field Trip, we traveled by ferry to Cradle Mountain to explore and location scout a few days before shooting an elopement. As you can tell from this photo series, we found some epic scenery!
We're so glad this fun, photogenic couple braved the cold because the photos turned out so well. The dark haze of storm clouds and little pockets of snowfall made for cool compositions.
The first look is one of my favorite moments to capture during a wedding day, especially when it's an elopement. The nerves, the anticipation, the overflowing joy... it makes for photo magic.
Can you imagine a more beautiful setting to say "I Do" and sign your marriage license in? I think not. Everywhere we looked, the scenery became more and more breathtaking.
After we had a brief intermission for a friendly snowball fight, I took the couple on an adventure for a private portrait session. Because we came a few days earlier to find locations, we scoped out some incredible lookout points overlooking snowcapped mountain ranges.
While shooting, I kept thinking "This is the shot! No wait, this is the shot!"
As you can tell, I couldn't choose a favorite.
Then it was time to close the day with an intimate dinner as the couple gathered around the table with their closest family and friends. We're so glad we had the chance to be a part of Nick and Ash's celebration of love.
